A Medieval Bohemian Christmas

Two years ago we experienced a Christmas in northern Thailand.  Both Bangkok and Chiang Mai were festooned with traditional European Winter/Christmas decorations, but Christmas day was just another work day in this traditional Buddhist country.  We worshiped at a church in Chiang Mai on Christmas Eve and Christmas Evening, but otherwise it was hard to believe it was Christmas.

This year we expect to experience something quite different.  We've been asked why we are visiting Europe in winter.  Surely it'll be too cold?  It may be cold, but in Jan 2011 we survived a couple of days of -25C temperatures in northern China.  Here's a link to the coach trip we will join for a small part of our holiday.  It's one of the reasons for the timing - to experience a "White Christmas" (if we are lucky!) in unusual surrounds.
